The Bible tells us that Jerusalem, not Rome, is the true “whore” of Revelation. In the future Jerusalem, the City of Peace will be the city of a great false peace. It will be a center of power much like ancient Babylon and will once again go a whoring as she did so many times in Old Testament days. At this future time Israel will have abandoned its current democratic form of government and will once again be a theocratic monarchy, ruled by kings and ruling with the kings of the earth. Now, I know that you may find this to be shocking and hard to believe. After all, we all think of Jerusalem as the heart of the holy land and the place where the Lord Jesus Christ will someday reign (and He will), but not before He avenges Himself on the city that rejected the Lamb of God and nailed Him to a tree outside the city walls.

How do we know for sure that Jerusalem is the “woman” spoken of? Consider this undeniable truth: In the Bible God says that Babylon, the mother of harlots, is responsible for shedding specific holy blood:

I do not deny that Israel was once, in the past chosen by God from all the peoples of the world to be the focus of special blessing in the history of redemption which climaxed in Jesus Christ, the Messiah. “The LORD your God has chosen you to be a people for his treasured possession, out of all the peoples who are on the face of the earth” (Deuteronomy 7:6). But Christians now alone are the chosen People

Nor do I deny that God promised to Israel the presently disputed land from the time of Abraham onward. God said to Moses, “This is the land of which I swore to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, ‘I will give it to your offspring’” (Deuteronomy 34:4). But neither of these Biblical facts leads necessarily to the endorsement of present-day Israel as the rightful possessor of all the disputed land. Israel may have such a right but now she does not. As that decision is not based on divine privilege.

I also do not believe rightfully that Israel today is the fulfillment of Scriptural prophecy, because the Lord promised to restore Israel in righteousness (Hosea 10:12). Israel went into spiritual adultery, idolatry. God raised up Hosea to pronounce judgment on them. All we are seeing in the Middle East today is hatred, war killings and a deadlock concerning the location of the temple mount (whom Muslims now control). That ‘Messianics’ are considered and accepted as Jews is unheard of. A Jew who believes in Jesus as his/her “Lord and Savior” has become a Christian and is no longer a Jew. Is the Sabbath Day Still Valid Today? Jesus is our Sabbath today, in Whom we completely rest for salvation. God required the death penalty in the Old Testament for a man who merely picked up some sticks on the sabbath Day (likely to make a fire). Why did God require the man’s death? Jews and Messianic Jews in desperation are falsely trying to maintain their own Hebrew religious identity and to falsely reject a Christian version of it.. In Messianic Jewish literature and many have noticed one consistent trend: authors intensely try to justify Messianic Judaism while heaping bitterly numerous criticisms on Christianity . Now it comes as a surprise, again, that Messianic Jews criticize Christianity even more harshly than Judaism, which rejects Jesus as the Messiah and hates Him. It appears that Messianic Jews are as antagonistic to Christianity as the traditional Jews are. It brings to mind the words of Paul ,” You are still worldly. For since there is jealousy and quarrelling among you, are you not worldly? Are you not acting like mere humans? If you keep on biting and devouring each other, watch out or you will be destroyed by each other. Messianic Judaism has become so preoccupied with justifying its existence that it is now obsessed with taking over from both religions that of the Jews and the Christians, but especially Christianity. / January 15, 2019I think this article is true but what of the parts of the Olivet Discourse that speak of things being worse than have ever been or will be again and Jesus coming back in glory? The Olivet Discourse is about more than the destruction of earthly Jerusalem because of unbelief in Jesus Christ. Is it double prophecy the part that says to flee when you see the Abomination of Desolation like Revelation “Come out of her my people.” How to come out of Babylon? Just to reject this culture?
I am looking to read now, again, with helpful commentary on the great promises of who Jesus is, the Prologue of St. John’s Gospel and depth of what it means that Jesus is the light. Some of the Quaker commentary at HalWorthington The Missing Cross to Purity speaks extensively about the Light of Christ and that being a help in living the Gospels but there are a few things off in Quakerism and I wonder why there is so little commentary on what we believe and the sweetness of the Gospel passages on light and love.

What can we do but ask Jesus for help in the living of these days as the hymn says and people should emphasize two of the prayers Jesus commanded – To pray ALWAYS that you be accounted worthy to escape the things coming on the whole earth and to stand before the Son of Man and pray that the Lord of the harvest would send forth laborers into the harvest, I also pray for the protection of true missionaries and true pastors and for persecuted Christians and deceived Christians in large cults like John MacArthur see Barbara Aho’s 5 part series on him and the sickening camp for teenagers with satanic signs over a decapitated pig and other terrible things.
